Avid4 Adventure Camps offer fun outdoor pursuits each day with an emphasis on developing friendships, understanding risks, and learning. All activities are age appropriate, including sports like Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Kayaking, Canoeing, and much more!
This new two-week intensive day camp will meet your kids need for greater skill development, offer new and more challenging locations for activities and provide more time to develop strong friendships while learning about the ecosystem. Activities include several days each of Mountain Biking, Canoeing and Rock Climbing. Also, back by popular demand, we'll offer one day of advanced outdoor training in Leave No Trace, Basic Survival Skills, introductory 1st Aid, and/or Orienteering.
In this Boulder Survival Skills Day Camp your kids will learn to appreciate and understand how food, medicine, tools, shelter and clothing are still available in our own backyard right here in Boulder, Colorado. A sampling of what we'll do during this week-long day camp...kids will build a shelter using hay bales and pre-gathered sticks as well as hike to observe and identify plants and terrain suitable for natural shelter. They will also feel empowered in their ability to create items needed to survive in the wilderness by making utensils from items they find in the natural environment, learn to be responsible when using sharpened objects and learn to track animals in their habitat and following leave no trace principles.
Avid4 Adventure's fun & safety focused Boulder Rock Climbing Camp provides kids with the opportunity to progressively climb and experience a diversity of routes and rock types over the course of a week. Kids will develop skills and experience through increasingly challenging techniques, exercises, and routes all while learning team-building and individual leadership skills with friends and peers of the same age.
Get your kids paddling young with the enjoyment, comradery, and challenge of whitewater kayaking in the beautiful and scenic creeks and rivers of the Colorado Front Range. They will learn river safety, rescue techniques and whitewater kayaking skills while visiting the Front Range's premier moving water sections in a progression appropriate to the group's skill and ability levels.
This fun and safety oriented Canoe and Kayak Program is loaded with group games and adventure challenges to entertain, educate and develop each participant's skills while deepening friendships and fostering new ones. Canoeing and kayaking on both flat and potentially moving water (depending on group ability and river conditions) provides the basis for a great week of summer camp.
The Avid4 Adventure Mountain Biking Camp offers the opportunity to ride different trails and areas throughout the week. Kids develop mountain biking skills through increasingly challenging activities, exercises, and trails while working on team building and individual leadership with peers of the same age. Kids also learn basic bike maintenance skill such as changing flats and solving gear problems.
