Family Trip: Fruita Family Camp

Spring and fall are the ideal times to observe the amazing scenery, parks, and natural history of western Colorado in and around Fruita.  This special setting  provides the opportunity for canyon hikes, natural history explorations, and all sorts of fun and engaging activities for you and your youngsters. This three day trip is a great introduction for your family to experience Colorado’s own canyon country.

Cost, Ages, and Dates

Cost:

$295/person & a 1-time $50 family registration fee

Before April 1st : You can hold your space with a non-refundable deposit of $250 per family. Final payment is due on April 1 st and will be automatically placed on your credit card unless you make alternative prior arrangements.

After April 1st: Full payment is due at time of registration to hold your spot. Children under 5 are free.

Ages:

All ages are welcome (5-14 for kids specific activities); Children under 5 are free if they are not participating in the children’s group activities.

Dates:

Labor Day Trip:  August 31st – September 3rd

Trip arrives at 6:00pm and departs at 2:30pm in Fruita, Colorado.

Trip Overview

Take the whole family to experience the wonders of Western Colorado’s canyon country.  We will be deluxe camping quite literally on the footsteps of the dinosaurs.  Avid4 Adventure’s renowned staff will share 3 days of activity and enjoyment with your family.  We will visit Colorado National Monument where sheer-walled canyons, towering monoliths, colorful formations, desert Bighorn sheep and soaring eagles exemplify the unique environment and history of the plateau-and-canyon country.  Our most senior staff will facilitate these deluxe family trips with full kitchen and meal preparation, family size tents, and all specialized equipment included.  Having a positive and memorable family experience can’t be much easier, just pack your bags with the necessary clothes and personal items, pile into the car and we’ll meet you there with hot chocolate and a warm campfire.  We can accommodate ages 5-14 for the kid’s specific activities. Older or younger ages are welcome to remain with their parents during our activities.  Avid4 takes the work out of great family adventures and fills them with safety-oriented fun in an all-inclusive atmosphere.

Sample Itinerary

• Day 1: Arrive after 6pm evening prior to day 1 and settle into camp; please eat dinner before arriving.
• Day 2: Group meeting and games, exploration and hike in Colorado National Monument, afternoon family time.
• Day 3: Rock climbing in the National Monument, closing ceremony, end of program.
• Day 4: Rafting the Colorado River with the whole Family.
