Family Trip: Crested Butte Family Camp

Witness the breath-taking beauty of Crested Butte with Avid4 Adventure. Bring your family to the high country of the Rocky Mountains with Avid4 Adventure this summer. We will be camping at 10,200 feet in a beautiful lakeside forest, at the base of Mt. Crested Butte, during prime wildflower season. Crested Butte is known as one of the premier alpine areas in the country for mountain biking, mountaineering, wildlife viewing and inspiring mountain views. To give parents some time each day for their own recreation, Avid4 Adventure will provide a half day hiking, canoeing, or high ropes adventure course for kids.

Cost, Age Requirements, and Trip Dates

Cost

All inclusive cost is $325/person and a one-time per season $50 family registration fee

Before April 1st : You can hold your space with a non-refundable deposit of $250 per family. Final payment is due on April 1st and will be automatically placed on your credit card unless you make alternative prior arrangements.

After April 1st: Full payment is due at time of registration to hold your spot.

Age Requirements

All ages are welcome; 5-14 years old for kids’ specific activities. Children under 5 are free if they are not participating in the group activities.

Trip Overview

The Crested Butte area of the Rocky Mountains is one America’s premier high country zones. The alpine wildflower displays spreading through meadows and under aspen and fir forests is truly a classic to be experienced. Wonderful trails for hiking and mountain biking wind up down and through this vibrant mountain landscape providing rewarding outings for all ages. Climb a mountain, soak in an alpine lake, or simply enjoy the fresh air and abundant wildlife of this special area.  Our most senior staff will facilitate these deluxe camping vacations with full kitchen and meal preparation, family size tents, and all specialized equipment included.  Just pack your bags with the necessary clothes and personal items, pile into the car and we’ll meet you there with hot chocolate and a warm campfire (trips begin after dinner the first day and end mid-afternoon the last day). We can accommodate age 5-14 for the kid’s specific activities. Older or younger ages are welcome to remain with their parents during our activities.

Sample Itinerary

• Day 1: Arrive after 6pm and settle into camp; please eat dinner before arriving.
• Day 2: Group meeting and games, hiking exploration of local wildflowers and wildlife, afternoon family time.
• Day 3: Morning high ropes adventure for the kids, afternoon family time, dinner.
• Day 4: Canoeing on Lake Irwin for the kids, end of program.
