Overview

Climb a mountain, soak in a hot spring, or simply enjoy the fresh air and abundant wildlife of this special area. Our most senior staff will accompany you and provide  meal preparation, family size tents, and all the specialized equipment you will need to make this trip a perfect one. As an added treat, all of your meals have been designed byProfessional Chef, Staci Rieder; so just pack your bags with the necessary clothes and personal items, pile into the car, and we’ll meet you there with hot chocolate and a warm campfire on your first night (trips begin after dinner the first day and end mid-afternoon the last day). This trip also provides specific activites for kids ages 5-14.  Older or younger kids are welcome, too, but must remain with their parents during our activities.

Cost, Ages, Location, & Dates

Cost:

$295/person and a 1-time $50 family registration fee; Children under 5 are free if they are not participating in the children’s group activities.

Trip meets at Steamboat Lake State Park in Steamboat Springs, CO.

Dates:

There are no open registration trips for 2012, however we offer private trip for groups of 14 or more.  Please contact Kyle at 720-249-2412 X10 or Kyle@Avid4.com to book a private trip.  Reservations for private trips are first come-first served; 14 people minimum for a private.

Sample Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive after 6pm and settle into camp.
  • Day 2: Group meeting and games, hiking exploration of local wildflowers and wildlife, afternoon family time.
  • Day 3: Morning climbing adventure, afternoon family time, dinner.
  • Day 4: Canoeing on Lake Steamboat with the kids, end of program.
