This great weekend trip provides a fun and adventurous “water weekend” which includes: camping, kayak skills development, and lots of same-aged peers. We will spend the first day on flat water, at a lake or reservoir, learning the basic skills, developing advanced skills, and/or perfecting pre-existing ones. This day will include games, challenges, and plenty of opportunity for good old fun in the outdoors. Day 2 will be oriented to having a moving water experience appropriate to group and individual skill and ability levels. All considerations will be made based on providing a positive and safety oriented experience. All specialized equipment will be provided by our American Canoe Association certified instructors. The 2-day course includes proper equipment use, wet-exit technique, paddle strokes, assisted and unassisted rescues, moving water hydrodynamics, eddy entry and exits, kayak roll techniques. All food from lunch the first day through lunch the second day is included. Those age 10 years-old and over with interest in kayaking and sharing experiences on and around the water are welcome to join us.
