Camp Photos
Every day each group carries a digital camera with them and takes photos in the field. These photos are then uploaded to a site that you can view, share, download, and print from. This popular service is now included in your Registration Fee. You will receive an email with a link to your photos from camp.
Tee Shirts
Show your camp pride with high quality Avid4 Adventure logo imprinted apparel! 100% cotton Avid4 Adventure Tee Shirts are included in your Registration Fee. Additional shirts are available for only $10. Tee Shirts are pre-shrunk, with taped neck and double stitched collar and hems. Tees will be delivered to participants at their camp.
Friends Together
We will make our best effort to accommodate friends that want to be in the same cabin group together at our resident camp, but cannot guarantee such. In our experience, putting kids together that are more than two years apart in age creates problems with the overall group dynamic. When you proceed with the online registration, there will be a space for you to indicate the name/s of friends that you think will attend the same camp.
Forms & First Morning Registration
We will email all necessary forms to you a week after you provide required Health History information, or March 1 (whichever is later). Forms are required for participation in camp and must be mailed to Avid4 Adventure ( PO Box 287 , Boulder , CO 80306 ) no later than June 1. You can preview generic versions of the forms on our website, but the forms we email you will be personalized with all of the information you provided online. Program acceptance is conditional on Avid4 Adventure's receipt and review of all forms, which must be properly signed by participants/parents. Please note:
- OVERNIGHT CAMPS REQUIRES A PHYSICIAN'S SIGNATURE IN ADDITION TO A PARENT/GUARDIAN'S ON THE HEALTH FORM.
- Respiratory Issue or Severe Allergic Reaction Health Care Plans - In order for your camper to carry and/or self-administer an inhaler or Epi-Pen, we require a Respiratory Issues Health Care Plan or Severe Allergic Reaction Health Care Plan to be submitted. These forms require both a physician and parent signature. Forms can be found in the Forms section of our website.
Communication While at Camp
Our camps often take place in remote locations where communication to or from our group can be challenging, delayed or impossible. Cell phones work in some of our program locations, but can not be relied upon. Should you need to reach a camper that is in the field, please refer to the CONTACT link on our website and contact the Avid4 Adventure office or emergency contacts.
For our Camp Eden Resident Camp, letters to kids at camp are encouraged. They must be emailed to info@avid4.com with the subject line “Camp Eden letter for…”, or packages can be delivered to Avid4 Adventure at the Watershed School (205 Canyon Blvd, 80302) NO LATER than Wednesday at 3 PM the week of camp.
Preparing Your Kids for Camp
Our staff are well aware of the fact that for many kids, this will be their first big trip on their own and we are proactive to support kids in this endeavor. We will have two staff assigned to each group of ten kids. Each day, there will be time scheduled for Counselors to check in with kids to see how their experience is developing. As a parent, it's good to share that missing home is a natural part of being away and that it is a good thing as it shows that a kid is happy in their home environment. Let them know that this feeling may come up for them at camp and it is appropriate to share this with their Counselor for support. It is important not to make a "pick-up deal" with kids. In other words, refrain from saying that if they are not having a great time that you will come and pick them up. We find that this undermines kid's ability to learn to move through feelings of homesickness. Here's a link to a Colorado Parent Magazine Article on homesickness that may be helpful as well.

Nature of Activities
At Avid4 we are outside exploring, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking and climbing every day. During the course of a week, it is often the case that kids will acquire a scrape or bruise due to the physicality of activities. This is simply the nature of learning outdoor activities. For a more detailed discussion of the spectrum of risks involved in outdoor activities, please refer to our Parent Handbook and/or our Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risks form, or talk with the Avid4 Camp or Program Director.
Parent Handbook
We have an extensive Parent Handbook that has information on all aspects of our program. Please take a few minutes to review it.
