Fun and safety-focused Free Ride Mountain Biking Private Instruction challenges participants to progress their riding abilities using the varied features and terrain at Valmont Bike Park. Terrain features include Dirt Jumps, Dual slalom, slopestyle, pumptrack, single track, and more. Instruction provided by highly qualified and experienced staff riders. We strongly encourage participants to use their own bicycles and protective pads during this program to allow for greatest transfer of skill development, however, we can provide helmets, mountain bikes, and knee/elbow pads if needed at an additional cost.

Kevin Stiffler
Position: Freeride Program Director
Disciplines: Freeride, 4X, BMX, Cyclo-cross, & Mountain Biking
Experience: 10+ years in cycling industry; Instructor at Woodward Sports Camps; Achieved #1 status in NY and raced at Nationals; bike mechanic and shop co-owner
Certifications: Masters in Education, Wilderness 1st Aid, CPR
Kevin Stiffler, hailing all the way from New York, moved to Boulder, CO in 2010. Prior to moving here, he completed his M.Ed. in Education and taught in a brick and mortar school. Having a background in BMX and downhill racing and freeride, he achieved number one status in NY and qualified for Nationals in racing at the age of 16. After winning states, he began focusing on the freestyle aspect of mountain and BMX riding. He spent his previous summers instructing bike tricks and skills at Woodward Sports Camp, PA. He has worked in the bicycle retail/mechanic industry for over a decade. He has been a committee member for bike oriented skate park development in NY, and has pushed for bicycle rights at currently constructed skate parks across the state. He has organized, managed, and participated in bike events from cyclocross races to freestyle competitions. Since moving to Boulder, he founded a local Bike Shop and regularly enjoys riding the area’s best.

Certifications: CPR & 1st Aid
Kevin Rauhauser was born and raised in Boulder, CO, and has been biking for most of his life. He started dirt jumping in middle school and down-hilling a few years later. After high school, Kevin attended the University of North Dakota for two years before transferring back to Boulder to CU where he currently studies aerospace engineering. After returning to Boulder, Kevin worked with the parks and recreation department of the city to secure water access for riders at Eaton Park, a local dirt jump spot.
