Building a lifetime love of outdoor adventure
Handpicked for their access to stunning natural settings, our day camp locations across Central Colorado and Northern California are just right for adventure.
"[I liked] seeing my son's confidence grow and seeing his positive interactions with the staff. Staff have served as true role models for him. This weekend, he took us out to show us what he learned and teach us about climbing!"
"My son learned to ride his bike with no training wheels and gained a great deal of confidence climbing . . . the staff really worked with him over the course of two weeks to help him feel more comfortable being a leader and busting out of being quiet in groups."
We help kids progress from learning the climbing basics—techniques, equipment, safety—on our 25-foot mobile rock wall to practicing and improving these skills at local crags as they enter 2nd grade and beyond. A day of climbing is included in all of our multi-sport camps, or kids can climb all week long at our Rock Climbing Day Camp in Colorado.
We teach our youngest campers to feel comfortable in a water environment through fun games and challenges. At all levels, we teach paddling skills and maneuvering technique. Starting at Kindergarten or 2nd grade, depending on location, we travel to local sites to navigate real bodies of water. Campers can try 1-2 days of paddling at any of our multi-sport camps or spend a week on the water at our Kayaking Day Camp in Colorado.
From kids who’ve never ever been on a bike before to whizzes on two wheels, we get kids comfortable with biking technique, safety, equipment and maintenance. Once they learn the basics, we get them pedaling on local trails tailored to their level. All kids get a chance to bike at our multi-sport camps, or biking buffs can try our Colorado Mountain Biking Day Camp or Valmont Bike Park Skills Camp.
We adapt our hiking adventures for each group’s age and energy level, taking kids on local trails to teach them about flora and fauna and the principles of Leave No Trace. Throughout the week, we help them build awareness of the world around them and respect for the outdoors. Hiking is built into all of our multi-sport camps, as well as our Survival Skills Day Camp in Colorado.
